I Was A Child In These Fields Poem by timmy conway

I Was A Child In These Fields

I was a child in these fields

Made daisy chains

Picked cowslips

We played in the woods

Fished the canal

Dived from the lock

Into the crystal water

Played horses in the Knox

Slayed down the Moat

Blew -Love me

-Love me nots

Sang by heart my daily prayer

-Daily Daily Sing To Mary

Now I walk where we raced boxes

Stumble on the wet leaves

And admire the chestnut.
