I wanted to love you
only I was never good enough
never right even for myself
too many faults found
acknowledged and realised
I wanted to love you
and have you love me in return
I curse the fates that is not to be
my own doubts weigh heavy
tipping the scales, negative
such is the value and balance
such is the glory of it all
I wanted to love you
and have you love me
love is actually magic
still a mystery to me
