I Wanna Hear Words Poem by nikki irvine

I Wanna Hear Words

I wanna hear words as they travel down the street,
As they carry on through the world of time,
And as they whistle down the wind.

The trams pass me by,
Under that big blue open sky,
As the powerful sun shines high,
And the donkeys plod on past.

New lights, sights and sounds,
Emerge through this dark night,
As the bells chime,
In and out of time.

At night those trams,
Sound their horns in a great surprise,
To celebrate the on coming night,
And the crowds start to sing,

Litter blows and the trees sway,
Some how I end up in the bay,
The lights on the other side of the water,
Reminds me of my memories,
That I have had,
And that I have shared,
And those which I thought I had forgotten,
And not forgave.

I am just relieved,
And now I am relaxed,
That it is,
Thankfully it is a Saturday.
