I Thank Lady Luck Poem by Francis Duggan

I Thank Lady Luck

I thank lady luck she has been kind to me
But how many more Springs will i be privileged to see
And though my legs at their best they could never run fast
I know that my better days are in the past.

I thank lady luck to me she has been kind
And fault in her i am not able to find
My health is quite good hard times i have not known
And when i needed her me she did not disown.

Good things of lady luck i only can say
I feel from me she is never far away
She is always with me when i need her the most
And to her I'm happy for to drink a toast.

I thank lady luck credit from me she is due
To me through six decades she has remained true
To me she is a good friend and good friends are rare
And whenever i need her to help me she's there.
