I Still Love Him Poem by Mark Otieno

I Still Love Him

It felt like love at first sight
His words were like suns light
We met here and there
He treated me right
With lots of care
Best day was when he propose
Gave me a ring followed by a rose
It was as romantic as a night full of stars
Things began to change
After a year or more
He became a man filled with rage
His sweet words
Turned to bitter arrows
Thrown to me day and night
Love once so peaceful turned to a fight
He used to give me hugs and kisses
But now all i get are blows and bruises
He used to love my meat stew
Now my meals he can barely chew
I still love him
I made an oath through thick and thin
I still love him
