I Stand Here Blazing... Poem by April Darcy

I Stand Here Blazing...

I stand here blazing.
My heart afire with love;
Body alit with passion for only you;
But you watch me suffer.
Withholding your extinguishing kiss;
Keeping your distance;
Watching.
Afraid of getting burnt
But, you have yet to realize that I'm the one burning.
I wish you would leave.
Snuff out this love.
Cremate my heart with your final disapprovals and criticisms.
Lay it to rest with my self-esteem and soul.
Leave me to become the walking dead -
A chared, hollow corpse devoid of feelings and emotions.
