I Saw You Once Poem by Peter Mamara

I Saw You Once

by M. Eminescu (1850-1889)

I saw you once,
And it took my breath away.
And the agony, with which
I've fancied you, was painful.

I see you for the second time.
And I listen to your voice.
I only know this:
I lived for too long.

The harmful mess
Of my years of love:
It is just a notion
Compared to the today's one.
