I Love You Poem by Rian Pongratz

I Love You

I thought that I expected this,
Though I knew just how I'd feel,
But experiencing love with you,
Makes nothing else seem real.

I thought I couldn't love you,
Since I was hurt so much before,
But you came around and showed me,
That this could be much more.

All of your innocence,
Hidden in your darkened ways,
Always shines the brightest,
On the lowest of your days.

You've changed me so much,
In ways I can't describe.
You always make me smile,
You make everything alright.

Now I just can't lose you,
That's something you should know.
Baby, you're my hope,
I don't want to let you go.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
After my boyfriend, Dylan, and my first argument, I say down and started to write this. It was all just raw emotion since we were arguing about how he apparently doesn't do anything right, and it seemed like he didn't actually want to be with me.
