I Looked For My Eva Poem by norman hale

I Looked For My Eva

I looked for my Eva
Up over the hill
But, all I could find
Was a girl named Jill

I looked for my Eva
Down in the valley
But, all I could find
Was a girl named Sally

I looked for my Eva
Deep in the woods
The more I looked
The less I did good

I looked for my Eva
Down by the pond
But all I could find
Was a frog with a wand

I looked for my Eva
Up by the lake
But, all I could find
Was a big ol snake

I looked for my Eva
Out in the shed
But all that I found
Was a dog named Fred

I looked for my Eva
In the barn si big
But, all I could find
Was one big pig

I looked for my Eva
I looked for her every where
And when I found my Eva
She was a sleep in my chair
