I Look To You Poem by Charley Staines

I Look To You

When these walls close in around me,
I feel I need to run,
When work piles over my head,
I can't do right for doing wrong,
When nothing is going to plan,
False friends become foes,
When everyday life spirals,
That's exactly when I know.

I look to you.

When nothing is clear,
You push away the clouds,
When I put up my barriers,
You break down these walls,
You see me for who I am,
Sometimes frightened, others brave,
Sometimes I cry, but that's okay,
I can never tell you how much it counts,
To have someone like you always around.
