I Knew You Were Gone The Second That You Left Poem by Ella Rose

I Knew You Were Gone The Second That You Left

Rating: 1.0

I lay on the bed.
I pray in my head.

I thought you may have been dead, but my heart wished otherwise.
-I knew you were gone the second that you left.
I prayed you were safe, but I saw the desperation in your eyes.
-I knew you were gone the second that you left.

My heart bled.
I start dying instead.

I remember the last I love you spoken out of guilty goodbyes.
-I knew you were gone the second that you left.
How could I have not saved you when I heard all your cries?
-I knew you were gone the second that you left.

Outsmarted dead.
I start to tread.

All the signs of suicide; hurting yourself on purpose, all the lies.
-I knew you were gone the second that you left.
I thought on a daily basis, "what will I do if she breaks down and dies?
-I knew you were gone the second that you left.

I lay on the bed.
I pray in my head.
