I Just Must Be Addictive Poem by Francis Duggan

I Just Must Be Addictive

I've been advised by some to give rhyming away
But I must be addictive is all I can say
For such advice I always do choose to ignore
It only seems to inspire me to pen on some more
One might say I've written a whole heap of stuff
And with me enough never does seem enough
Please never do refer to me as a poet
Save that one for one who is more worthy of note
Since success as a writer does not come your way
What inspires you to write on some to me do say
But my answer to them it is always the same
It is never for money or never for fame
Or as an antidote to low self esteem
I just must be addictive or so it does seem.
