I Heard You Crying ~ Trauma Drama Poem by Singleton M. Tate

I Heard You Crying ~ Trauma Drama

I was asleep in a realm of triumph,
when suddenly

Cries were revealed unto me...

I discounted them and floated on,
but was awakened

They kept growing strong...

I pried open my lids and to my
surprise,
What did I see?

It was an illusion coming quickly...

A vision of tears flooding my soul,
I wanted to sleep,
Should I be so bold?

'Don't mind me, ' the lowly voice said...

I thought to myself,
Could it be that I'm dead?

I was alert and breathing, yet still

Someone said, 'I'm hurting'
and I cried, 'Take a pill'

'Who are you and what can I do? '
As I looked for this person that
I never knew...

That's when I saw her, she was tattered and thin,
in dirty ragged clothing, coughing blood
up now and again

'Oh My God! Who's done this to you? '
A girl all of fourteen, beatened severely
black and blue

I asked, as she never replied...

Just a cold horrible look in her eyes...

'I heard you crying, ' I said, with a somber
quivering...

Just then, she exploded,
while delivering...

The Conclusion
To this,
Ironic Tale

As Now,
The only words that I'll ever hear,
Rang of my last choice,
To Ignore,
Someone's Crying Voice...
