I see you in grace today
Always as a friend who would stay!
Have I known you forever?

I had always seen you when I did play
As a child in the fields at bay.
In the warmth of my mother's hands I did stay
In the dark when you leave me after the day!
With hope I embrace the start of a day
As you wake me with a shining ray!
Have I known you forever?

In awe, I see you in the beach your beauty at display
But into the deep you disappear far away!

You always watch me over in dismay
As I sat with tears with no hope to stay!
Have I known you forever?

I draw the courage from you to keep me going in my way
As I see you shine again even after fading at the end of the day!
Never doubt or judge, to myself and others, I would say!
As you would never leave anyone in dark when you shine during the day!

Have I known you forever?
Yes I have known you forever!
For today and tomorrow and for all my life you will shine on my day.

You are the Sun and the Sunshine.
