I Gave My Sister The Moon Poem by Cherie Mort

I Gave My Sister The Moon

Rating: 5.0

I roll the red, rounded object in my hand
And give it to my sister
She pulls off the red wax and reveals the milky white cake underneath
I draw the dark blue curtains sprinkled with gold stars
And hang up the flattened wheel among them

As we lie down on the grass and look upon the heavens
We admire the celestial ornaments created with our gifts
My sister gave me the world
And I gave my sister the moon
