I Dream Of Trophy Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

I Dream Of Trophy

The year gone, we broke the jinx
A drought; as dry as an old jeans
An honour, much waited for
We were all began telling stories of the yore
Those were seasons of laurels
Little need to engage in quarrels
The qualities were the statement
Highbury presented huge aggradisement
The stars were shining
Their performances were heart warming
Do not forget the Invincibles
In a season of great improbables
Then, they all frittered away
And all qualities drifted far away
Nine seasons resembled nine centuries
We had to visit the sanctuaries
Change came and we made it to the Wembley
Now with another visit to Wembley
I dream of another trophy
This season we must get a trophy! ! !
