I Doubt That Apes Write Poetry

A musing monkey,
A beasty Shelley,

I doubt exists,
Except in chimp-ish minds.

Orangutan lyricists
(At best)
Write of the flea
Or swollen red behinds.

No, I doubt that apes write poetry.
For that would be like Keats,
Swinging from the vines.
