I Can'T Take My Eyes Off You Poem by Euginia Tan

I Can'T Take My Eyes Off You

I would like to watch for something
Other than the crease in your frown
Or the dent in your cheek
When you smirk at a
Poorly timed punch line.

Still, my efforts are futile.
I am blinkered and the horizon
Is the wave of your coarse hair,
The point of your chin
As you stroke it. Scheming.
Wheeling and dealing a sinister plan.

And the lenses of my spectacles
Do not magnify my surroundings,
Because it is your physique.
Swallowing my vision
Devouring my discernment for sight.
Sound. Colour.
Smell. (Let me tell you ;)
The very stench of your cologne
Still burns the rim of my throat.
Tingles me in the nether regions
Below my belly.

I am crippled by the gait of your walk.
The way you lean in toward me
Grabbing my shirtfront.
Rendering me delicate.
Like a leaf falling from a tree,
Parachuting downward.
Slowly.

I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my mind off you
And always. The smell.
The pungent stench of your cologne.
Burning the rim of my throat.
Tingling the nether regions
Below my belly.

Tingling. (Let me tell you ;)
