I can hear you smile
Through the phone
As you sound out your words

It’s like a picture nobody painted
It’s an enchanted
Image of what I want you

To always do-
You in your
Night - gown

I can’t help
But feel an
Ache in my heart

When you
Feel pain
& I want to

Pierce the corners
of your lips
& Run strings

Through the holes
So your mouth can be
My puppet-

Your white teeth
Always shining in
The midnight light-

The endless jokes
Running through
Your veins

Like blood
That doesn’t
Hurt when it leaves

Like morphine
To make you
Feel fine

So you’ll know
I’m the hero in
Your dreams

So you’ll know
You’re the supernova
Speaking
