in my closet
on my knees
I look up
and I pray

oh my Father
I do believe
or only hope
that I do

I am not
without doubts
and have fears
I believe not

but I know
thou are there
see thy works
and hear your words

yet I cannot
understand
how it can be
just how you can

take all my pain
and make it good
free me from
my memories

that I may have
joy with you
in a place
were always good

beyond my pain
I cannot see
cannot believe
I can't be free

oh my Father
help me believe
in thy words
that they may be

I bow my head
and close my eyes
and in the darkness
I do cry
