I Am English Poem by Abdullah Demirdoven

I Am English

Rating: 5.0

I'm the English language, now clear the way
I'm the world's language, spoken everyday
Anyway, my friends I'm here to explain
To you the English words and squeeze your brain
I call all my names, without shame, a noun
Such as my kingdom or heavyweight crown
To make it easy, I use a pronoun
Like they for my rings or it for my gown
I just sometimes add an "an" or an "a"
I call them articles, say what you may
All together with the, they make my day
An adjective, yet, modifies the noun
Hot cold or beautiful or even brown
As for my verbs, I absolutely pray
For you to learn, and read and then to play
And how these are done, my adverbs will say
If quickly or slowly, that's your own way
I need prepositions to help me say
At the bank, on holiday, or in May
My parts of speech are such a piece of cake
They are easy to learn without a break
I‘m English if you believe it or not
I've finished my poem and hatched my plot
