Human Sadness Poem by Brandon Lucero

Human Sadness

What remains among the ashes
waves forever crashing
eyes deceive and ego lies
with all our power
gave a million tries

Wreckage burning
the earth is turning
I'm still here
barely

Building foundations
take tremendous will
prodigious and massive
supernovas of strength
oceans of change
constancy

Perpetual depression
never felt so down
tears always falling
role-playing clown

I am a rock passed amid the ages
ancestors deserve my conviction
through the hurricanes of human sadness
we record our depictions
