How Cheers The Heart Poem by Gary James Smith

How Cheers The Heart

Rating: 5.0

HOW CHEERS THE HEART

How cheers the heart of smiling face
Of relatives afar
Brings to reminising then
How changed their faces are
Years have come and years have gone
Numerous stories to tell
A catching up of times of past
The present day as well

Relatively speaking
The brothers and the sisters
Aunts, and uncles, nephews, neices
The Mrs. and the Misters
How binds the heart of kinfolk
When fellowshipping there
Reminding ourselves once again
We stand in need of prayer

O God our help in ages past
Our hope for years to come
Be kind and merciful in our midst
Reveal to us Your Son
Our Kinsmen and Redeemer
Through whom all blessings flow
Touch every heart with Thy presence
Till Jesus Christ they know.

I like the religious touch in your poem. It is also good as a poem in its own right
