Hopeful Heart Poem by Samantha Belsey

Hopeful Heart

My hopeful heart swells
Rises softly
Through starry skies

To be seen and heard
To be loved and learnt
Melts my defenses

The wall is crumbling
Sand falls through open fingers
And my hopeful heart swells

To be known and respected
To be free of hate and neglect
Melts my defenses

And my hopeful heart... hopes.
