Hope Versus Hate Poem by Shannon Atherton

What comes out of hate is a negative thing
What comes from hope makes me want to sing
It's not always easy to love one another
But try to be kind to your sister or brother

If people like you and people like me
Learnt not to judge for the whole world to see
Then we'd set an example; the world would see hope
As something that shines, and helps us to cope

We're all unique in our own little way
We should all try our hardest to brighten each day
What's on our cover is something so small
Compared to the light that shines in us all
