Hope Around The World Poem by Darryn John Murphy

Hope Around The World

Rating: 1.5

There is no sleeping beneath the stars tonight
There is no hope in their sight
Someone forgot who they really are
For if we wished upon the falling stars
Would the world be a better place
If we could go back and embrace the past
That brought us here
Would our destiny be any clearer
If there wasn’t any fear

For if you shed our skins
We all bleed the colour red
Beyond the body where love and light reside
If you look you would see that in the grace of god
The souls are all the same
So why is it that we all just can’t get along
For in the vessel of your sacred heart
There is no way of depicting us apart
For that is where our teardrops start

For in Iraq where the civil unrest growing by the day
The people are dying with the innocence of eyes
Before the soul departs this world
And goes to the place where souls
Are viewed the same
If looked upon with different eyes for in heavens light
We are one race within our world

For in our world where there is famine
There is also time for hope
For every time they close their eyes
They dream of better things to come
For where there is life with understanding
There is hope for a better life

For in the chat rooms on the Internet
Around the world the message is the same
No matter what the name is and where the person’s from
We dream of better things
For the world that is to come
A world free from conflict and the pain
A world where the future brighter
Where the world is not plagued by acid rain
Future for our children where there is no such thing as war
Where we can live as a race beneath the setting sun
