Hope Poem by Ama Alma Okigbo

Hope

In a casket of misery and tragedy
In a life that's being wasted; every second that goes by
In the depths of catastrophe
In a life where pain and misfortune are siblings
In all this, life is like a life circle that never changes
In a life where one wishes for a long-lost hero
In a life where one thinks all is lost

When I think my time will soon be over
When I have nothing left but 'hope.'
When everything is getting dark and gloomy
When I believed it is finally over

Soon things will change
Someday I will see the sunlight again
Soon I will dance under the moonlight
At some point, I will sleep with my clear mind
Soon I will have a light heart
Someday I will be free
And I will remember to never lose 'Hope.'
