Hooked Poem by Amanda Dickerman

Hooked

Rating: 5.0

I know why no one wants that shiny snack
But it doesn’t matter, I want it
I think when I’m close enough I’ll attack
It smells so good I just can’t quit

But it doesn’t matter, I want it
It started rising into the sea
It smells so good I just can’t quit
Good thing nothing can happen to me

It started rising into the sea
The light is shining through the water
Good thing nothing can happen to me
I open my mouth a little wider

The light is shining through the water
There is a large white thing, maybe a ship
I open my mouth a little wider
Now I can taste the metal inside my lip

There is a large white thing, maybe a ship
I think when I’m close enough I’ll attack
Now I can taste the metal inside my lip
I know why no one wants that shiny snack
