Homeward Bound Poem by David Harris

Homeward Bound

The highway stretched into the sunset
or at least it seemed to
when you are travelling home.
The miles disappear rapidly,
but more and more appear
on that long lonely highway
heading homeward bound.

The stars appear with the moon
and the headlights blink on
along the lonely highway
when the sun goes down.
Every mile is a bit closer
as you race into the night
heading homeward bound.
