Holyhead Lighthouse Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Holyhead Lighthouse

Rating: 5.0

Measured Poem.

'For those in peril'

Great
Beacon
Maybe seen
Across the deep
On clear moonlit nights.
Well-known rest for seabirds
South Stack Lighthouse Holyhead
Lighthouse famed throughout history
For saving men from torment on the sea.
Birdwatchers may find much interest
Just to come where seabirds nest.
The year of eighteen-o-eight
Was the building date
Of the lighthouse.
Britain's port
Of North
Wales.

'For those in peril'
