Hold On Me Poem by cadance cunningham

Hold On Me

I know this disease
has got a hold on me
and it's better to know
it's not going to let me go

I can not rest
until i know you're safe
so I can not sleep
until you're awake

I know tonight
has sure got a hold on me
to rock me away
until I go to sleep

I will keep my eye
out for the light
so darling tonight
you can sleep tight

I will chase away bats
and welcome the butterflies
I will push down the moon
and make sure the sun will rise

I know that the day
has sure got a hold on you
but I can not say
whatever you will do

when I go to sleep
where is it you will be
when the sun is tossed up
hoping it gets stuck

will you be by my side
and hold off the tide
and chase off the butterflies
and make sure the moon will rise

will you keep me from harm
and won't you be my alarm
so we can keep on being
will you meet me in the evening

I know that time
has sure got a hold on us
I know that tomorrow
has sure got a hold on you
I know tonight
has sure got a hold on me
