Hold My Hand Poem by Cliff Phiri

Hold My Hand

Rating: 5.0

My heart is weary,
Filled with twigs and dirt.
Weedy and wounded.
Again in dire need of a purge!

See;

Along the narrow street I walk...
Invisible thorns on the ground,
Dusty dark winds blowing.

Hold me now
And never let me free.

Draw me closer
Carry me now
Up high
Where the deceptive serpents cannot reach.

I need your hand
I need your provision
The land is dry,
The graves are thirsty.

See:
The fierce dragon
The hungry beast
And the angry wolf,
All after me!

The night is dark
Filled with terror_
Lions whose teeth never saw meat in a while!

As I go through fire
You are all I have.
Walking above the deep seas,
You're my confidence.

Hold my hand today
And take me far.

Unto you I've put my eyes
My shivering hand up
Waiting for your grab.
My knees are weak to stand,
Raise me up!

The sea waves are strong_
Determined to deport me.
Like a reed by the streams I shiver.
Hold me mercilessly
Like a vice holds iron.

Take me to that place of abundant joy.
Where freedom and liberty resides.

Hold my hand now..
Oh precious Jesus! !
