Hold Me Tight Poem by Cena Rose

Hold Me Tight

I want u to hold me tight

Like the world is just... right

And the flush from my cheeks

Damn those red high peaks

Just sneak away

Like the late night days

Where the window

Was our escape friend

And the tiptoe

Was our naked friend

With the faded nails

Saying “I -heart- u”

With that bottle for two

Of faded root beer

Fizzed out but the taste there

Didn’t matter

When the chit chatter

Of a squirrel made our hearts jump

And turned up the goose bumps

From the cold

Yet your hands, your warm hold

Made it all perfect and worth it

And the chit chatter of our lips

Nips at our feet

Like the whisper of the wind

As we walk in the moon light

With the sight of your fingers

Laced within mine

As I traced the outline

Of our little minute

Tick-tock ticketed in time

You

Made my heart skip-trip

Like I was speeding your way

On the highway

Made my skin shiver

Like the rock-tossed

Quiver of an upset river

Made my breath catch

Like I was snatched away

From a dream

You make everything

Mean more then it was before

It’s like you’re the light in the dark

A smile behind every a frowning mark

I’m drowning

But you pick me up

And hold me tight

And everything...

Everything is finally all right
