I longed to hear His voice
That soft glorious whisper
That Permeates tenderness
Enwrapped with comfort
A reprieve from the weight
That presses on me harder
Than my soul can support

My waiting finds no relief
My anxiety is not assuaged
Rather a deafening silence
Greets and accompanies me
And the chaos that threatens
To disrupt every composure
Reverberates along my path

Yet my every heartbeat holds
A promise of hope, enlivens
With inaudible whisper calls
A thundering but gentle call
Yet louder and stronger with
Every breath daily reassuring
Announces this very promise
Of His “I will never leave you,
Neither will I forsake you'
