Hiding Place Poem by Isabelle Cote

Hiding Place

Rating: 5.0

I don't know what I'm looking for
and not what I'm supposed to see
but as I'm looking in all directions
I feel a tiding of sweet serenity

I hear the wind rustling
through the leaves on the trees
dazzling me with their silent speech
and capturing me with their timeless stories

As I take long strides down this path
flashes of red cloud my vision
I see many more throughout this apple orchard
like spheres carved with acute precision

A horse grazes in the grass
and flowers, a festival of colour
colts have happily chased butterflies
and are now exhausted from there endeavor

The chirping comes from all directions
and the sound lights up my face
hidden from reality, yet open to the world
The perfect hiding place
xoxo

from before this all began...but dedicated
you give me that feeling of serenity
