Her Heart Sunk Poem by Nicole Buckland

Her Heart Sunk

Her heart sinks into the depth of her soul
as she watches me walk out
and says please don't go

But I close the door behind me
and I see the tears in her eyes
tears so blue, blue as the skies

Her eyes such a beautiful blue
her hair such a beautiful shine
she was mine
she was mine

I walk into the Grey of this world
and watch as hers falls to pieces

But I can't stay here no more
I just don't feel anything,
not anymore.

Her eyes speak such softness
her smile, the beauty of a goddess

but I let her go because it is the best
she deserves the best, not the rest
not the anger of my soul
so I let go

There is no more to say
but I went away
and my soul shriveled up dry,
from every night, every night, I cried
