Heavenly Earth Poem by Holly Jamestone

Heavenly Earth

To say one's in a better place
I'm not sure what that means
As this place, Earth, our world divine
May be where courage leans

Earth is where the sunsets glaze
The coral, smiling shore
Where waves caress the sandy quilts
Where sea gulls reign galore

Earth is where an infant's skin
Is softer than a peach
Where we can hold on willingly
When things seem out of reach

Earth is God and Heaven
And hope and trust and love
Beneath the silky ivory wings
Of his almighty dove

Earth is where our daily lives
Through goodness we attend
Are melded with the will of God
Earth's heavens never end

Heaven is inside our hearts
Its harps our inner voice
Its outline is our inner strength
Its warmth a sacred choice
