Hearts Of Cement Poem by Rafik Romdhani

Hearts Of Cement

God!
These hearts behind grins
Do all the time politics
Even
In the shake of the hand
With the hand
Even if they borrow
The ignoble for a show.

Flay them, God
Then heal their skin with sand
Catch their eye, you' ll see their hearts.

God, these hearts of cement
Fill in time with eluding the sober eye
They count, note after note,
Till the final retching of some day

They do politics at home
Between siblings
The blacksheep always a majority
The rest either tails or tales.

God, they tie anchor ropes
Of all kinds with the devil
With parties from near 'n afar

Fray those ropes, God
And cement in my hurricane
In my poetics.
