Heartbeat Poem by Invalid Files

There are words
That I want to say,
That I am dying to say,
Simple sentence that
Makes my chest constrict,
and eyes flood with tears,
And hands clench in pain

I knew it would hurt,
So I tried to kill it,
Kill it with hate,
Kill it with guilt,
But it would always
crumble, and
stand back up again,

How I wish I could tell you,
That I've always-

But simply because
You are you,
and I am me,
I won't say it;
Not till the last
Breath I take
