Heart Strings Poem by Chris Leermakers

Heart Strings

Here we are
on that page again
here we are on the road
on that same road again
running away
running to the edge
running towards our home again
But now there's no more need to run forever

Hold on a minute
please hold on
to me again
hold on to my heart
Yeah just hold on to me,
one more time
as my heart strings have been played again

It was our hard work
our heart work
I can still see you
still see your love
in your heart
behind your eyes
yes behind those crystal eyes

My angel of truth
please remember what I say
no matter what 'they' say;
just love yourself today
and it feels so good
what else can i say?
don't let them put you down
you are good enough all round
beautiful people are not easily found
beautiful angels are seen, but not actually heard

It doesn't matter anymore
we have already settled that score
don't let your mother
or any other fool
put you down
or drag you through the mud
they are just what you said
from the start - all just a fucking bore
I don't think that, all the drugs In this world could save them from themselves
and this I am sure

For now I have to go
but we will meet again
when you need me
just call me my good friend
I think you already know that
even though much time has passed
I really hope you haven't given up
because you give me faith
yes, you have given me faith
in this world once again
