He Loved Me There Poem by Thabitha Marakalala

He Loved Me There

He loved me there..

He fell inlove not with my matted face
In my arms his soul found a hiding place
Away from the world and mankind's disgrace

He fell inlove not with my flattering smile
I bet if he was to tell his love, the list would run for a mile
He stared right through my eyes
Reading through my pages of disguise

He fell inlove not with my giggles
But the tears that run dry behind every worn mask

My scars he kissed
My silence he missed
My doubts he dismissed
through him I learned
love does really exist

My tears he dried
My fears he drowned
My head he crowned
He dressed my wounds
He found where am hurting
And he loved me there

He smiled when am mad
Kissed me till am no longer sad
He held me tight when I cry
His heart beats my lullaby
He found my scars
And loved me there

He searched my heart
He searched my soul
Found where am hurting
And he loved me there..
