He Died At Fifty Poem by Asit Kumar Sanyal

He Died At Fifty

After her death
All the barriers collapsed
He got the heaven in hand
Became the owner of huge property
Came in original form
Took decision as he liked
Some advised not to do so
He did not listen
Faced loses again and again
Started drinking
Went for gambling to make up loss
Trapped slowly
The evils were ready
They bought his properties
at half price
Gave little money against gold
Took costly utensils
At the cost of a water bottle
He died at fifty
Leaving his children
On the footpath.

He was my biological father
and she... legal mother.
