He Controls Me Poem by Naomi Waters

He Controls Me

That boy isn't human
The only way to describe him
Is a psychopath
He isn't the first to hold power over
But he is the first to say it out loud
To bring my denial crashing down
Then he tries to claim I am still free
How can I be free within his prison
Maybe he doesn't know what it means
To be unrestricted
I suppose neither do I
Not only does he enslave me physically
He also holds dominion over my mind
Both mentally and emotionally
Fate has decreed that no matter where I am
Someone will always be my master
I am not permitted to see life without boundaries
Life branded me a servant
I was born to follow
Never to lead
I am not allowed rights
He doesn't see me as a citizen
I am beneath not only him but everyone

This is how someone very close to me treats me. We started out as friends but then he began to treat me like a slave and now that's all I am to him.
