Have A Nice Day Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Have A Nice Day

Have a nice day
A tsunami of builders are bricking over woodlands
Badgers eat poisoned bait- hear their death throes
Deer race from islands of trees to shrinking copses
Starlight drowns in the sky where neon glows
Dinghis sink their cargoes of refugees
Boundaries bend as countries overflow
Elephants, tigers die, entrapped by poachers
Pesticides wipe out birds where corn grows

Child labour continues its evil practises
Kali rules. War ravages the weak
History repeats itself, there is no learning
The climate buckles. Pollution outlets leak

Have a nice day. Please swim against the stream
Don't add fuel to the foul and the obscene
