Haunting Poem by Ted L Glines

Haunting

Haunting
by Ted L Glines

The old grey house is lurking, gossips bray,
a lady killed by rage's jealous power,
and husband suicided from its tower,
it happened more than twenty years ago,
a tale of murder cast in hell's tableau,
now wailing chords of organ shriek the night,
and children under covers cry their fright
in fear his shade will swoop in ghastly play.
Now draining from her portait on the wall,
her blood runs down to pool upon the floor,
the attic organ wails in pain tonight,
as ghostly fingers dance beyond the door,
the last note hails his screaming exit fall,
poor anguished mangled spirit without light.
