Haunt Me Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Haunt Me

These days it seems that all we do
Is pass each other like ghosts on a night street
Almost touching but oblivious
In our mutual invisibility.

I may feel a warm breeze.
You may smell jasmine.
Your energy attracts me like a magnet.
Mine lightens you like lowered gravity.

And yet, preoccupied as we are,
We let these tugs at our senses go
And focus on what we can see
Even though none of it feels real.

And so, for now, haunt me
And I will stalk you
If only in your dreams
If only in my thoughts.

I will reach out with my mind
If you will reach out with your heart
And somehow somewhere
We will find a way to intertwine

Beyond this sphere of space and time
Where nothing matters but love.
