It is not that I didn't remember,
It was not because I didn't have time,
To buy you a card for your Birthday,
When the date was engraved on my Mind.

It was because the muse was not present,
To create a new poem for you,
To wish you a Happy Birthday,
And a better year ahead for you too.

I know that it cannot be easy,
When future plans they seem to go wrong,
But try as I do, and you know that I do,
And for that we both have to be strong.
