Happiness Poem by Zoe Guillory

Happiness

She turned and drew a smiley face
in the corner of my paper. She wrote
it upside-down. It smiled up at me.
I erased it.
It had no business being there,
invading my thoughts.
I could still see it.
The faint line
of the signature of happiness.
