Happenstance Poem by Sophia White

Happenstance

Rating: 5.0

I was here.
There you were.
You a him,
I a her.

First you spoke.
I replied.
We were both
Alike inside.

I went here.
You went there.
Strange – we met
Everywhere.

Going there?
I am too!
What a chance –
I’ll join you.

Odd how things
Are that way.
Happenstance?
(Grin.) No way.

Alright, I concur with Landrey, I admit it: this is AWESOME. Your conveying of the message was perfecto! I think you hit a stroke of genius here. Probably my fav poem by you, ever.

yes, finally! ! My kind of poem. The random and creative use of parenthesis, concise lines and inexact pronouns. Very very good. This poem is probably true of everysingle person who reads it...at some point in their life. You're just finally admitting it of yourself; I've known this about you for a long time. -landrey
