Haiku: Insisted Poem by Bill Pocklington

Haiku: Insisted

Green pus is now called
Purulent Exudate, hmmm...
Going viral soon.

'It's earily strange.'
'Comeback Thursday, about 3.'
'I can cut it out.'

Pus is sometimes green.
Myeloperoxidase is
A bright green protein.

That's Pseudomonas.
Pyocyanin green!
May be on the test!

If it comes to this,
Soylent is made from people.
Never eat people!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Pus is sometimes green because of the presence of myeloperoxidase, an intensely green antibacterial protein produced by some types of white blood cells. Green, foul-smelling pus is found in certain infections of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The greenish color is a result of the bacterial pigment pyocyanin that it produces.
